DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- State investigators say a University of Georgia student whose body was found in a creek last month committed suicide.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement Wednesday that state chief medical examiner Dr. Kris Sperry determined Rebecca Greene intentionally consumed "very large quantities" of diphenhydramine, the main drug found in non-prescription sleeping aid medications. Sperry said the 22-year-old inadvertently fell into a cold stream, and later died from environmental hypothermia.

An Athens-Clarke County police officer found her body in the stream Nov. 19. She was last seen the evening of Nov. 18.
