CUMMING - A Forsyth County woman suffered superficial wounds after she was held at gunpoint during an attempted robbery of her home on Tamiami Road.

According to Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Karleen Chalker, the victim opened the door to a woman, described as a well dressed, blonde and blue-eyed white woman, who was attempting to sell children's bibles.

"When the woman opened the door, the female that was selling the bibles came in with several other suspects, we believe three black males, and at that point, they threatened her," said Chalker.

The victim called the police while she was held at gunpoint and the suspects fled the scene in an unsubscribed vehicle, empty-handed, before the police arrived.

Chalker said there haven't been any similar incidents, such as break-ins or burglaries, in that area recently. "We believe that this is an isolated incident. We believe this particular residence was targeted," said Chalker.

The suspects may still be in the Pilgrim Mill area, near exit 16 on Georgia 400. Chalker encourages anyone with information about suspicious persons or vehicles in the Tamiami Trail or Pilgrim Mill Road area from 3-4 p.m., to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office at 770-781-2222 or 770-781-3087.
