Boys basketball: Gainesville falls after early fightback

BETHLEHEM -- The Gainesville boys basketball team fought its way out of a 23-3 hole to start the contest but could not complete the comeback, falling 66-59 to Apalachee on Tuesday in Bethlehem.

Sam Carpenter led the Red Elephants with 21 points, including five 3-pointers, while Luke Maddox added 19.

Gainesville will travel to face Winder-Barrow on Saturday.
