Basketball: Lakeview boys, North Hall girls win on split night

GAINESVILLE -- The Lakeview Academy boys basketball team poured in 25 points in the fourth quarter to overtake North Hall in a 51-45 win on Monday in Gainesville.

The Lions (2-1) took an 18-11 lead after the first quarter but struggled against the Trojans (0-2) on either side of halftime, scoring just four points each in the second and third quarters, as North Hall pulled ahead 35-26 -- but Lakeview allowed just 10 points over the final eight minutes to help seal the comeback.

Tae Turner scored 12 to lead the Lions, while Josh Randolph added 10 and Tre Gober managed nine.

Carson Heinen put up a game-high 17 points to lead the Trojans, while Brock Wingo scored 12.

North Hall will look to bounce back at East Hall on Friday.

Lakeview, meanwhile, will play host to Towns County at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.

The Lady Trojans (2-0) stormed to the victory, out-scoring the Lady Lions 35-21 in the second half on Monday to pull away.

Sydney Cleveland put up a game-high 28 points to pace North Hall in the victory, while Kensi Gillespie added 13 and Katie Sayres chipped in with 11. Sadie Cleveland also scored 8 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win.

Schyler Miller finished with 24 to lead Lakeview.

The Lady Lions will look to bounce back on Friday against Towns County in Gainesville.

North Hall, meanwhile, will take on East Hall on Friday in Rabbittown.
