Boys basketball: Spartans storm past Monroe Area

CLEVELAND -- Ten different Spartans scored to lead the West Hall boys basketball team past Monroe Area 83-73 on Monday in the White County Shootout in Cleveland.

The Spartans (2-0) outscored the Purple Hurricanes 28-9 in the second quarter to take control of the game.

Deandre Peoples scored a game-high 27 to lead West Hall, while Mason Gaines and Hunter Atkinson each scored nine.

The Spartans will play again in the shootout at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday against Cambridge in Cleveland.
