MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Georgia state Sen. David Lucas will not be prosecuted over accusations that he choked a 14-year-old child.

Bibb County District Attorney David Cooke told the Macon Telegraph ( http://bit.ly/18Z2P6i ) that the Aug. 21 incident was reviewed by the Bibb County Sheriff's Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and they didn't see sufficient evidence to take out a warrant. The district attorney said his own investigation reached the same conclusion.

The inquiry stemmed from an election rally for the senator's wife, Macon-Bibb County Commissioner-elect Elaine Lucas. The 14-year-old child is the grandson of Terry Trip, who challenged Elaine Lucas unsuccessfully for the commission seat. The boys' mother had accused Lucas.

The GBI said Lucas and the boy showed up on surveillance video from the event, but it never showed them touching.
