The hearings will focus on the impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on rural America. U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, a Gainesville Republican and a frequent critic of the law, is a member of the committee.
The Gainesville hearing will be at 10:00 Monday at the Hall County Government Center at Browns Bridge and McEver roads and is the only one being held in Georgia.
The others are planned today in Gastonia, N.C.; Friday, Dec. 6, in Arizona; and Monday, Dec. 16, in Dallas, Texas.

The hearings will examine a variety of issues about Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation including the cost of increased premiums for healthcare coverage and the lack of choice for Americans.
"While the President repeatedly said that Americans could keep their insurance under ObamaCare, even he has had to admit that just isn't so," said committee chairman, Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) "By holding these field hearings, the Committee will hear firsthand the stories about the initial impact of broken promises."
"ObamaCare used to be a political issue for people in Northeast Georgia, but now it's personal," Rep. Collins said. "The impact of ObamaCare in our area is serious, and this is an incredible opportunity for my colleagues in Congress and members of the Northeast Georgia community alike to hear first-hand what ObamaCare is doing to rural healthcare."
