Pendergrass man arrested with alleged stolen items and drugs

PENDERGRASS - A Pendergrass man faces a list of charges after Jackson County authorities culminated an investigation with his arrest last week.

According to sheriff Janis Mangum, Bryan Michael Hayes, 37, was arrested at his Old State Road residence Thursday.

Authorities said they found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, cash, guns and stolen property.

"There were stolen guns out of Walton County and then some stolen items out of Jackson County. They're (Investigators are) continuing the investigation so that we anticipate there may be more stolen property identified," Mangum said.

Hayes is charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of tools for the commission of a crime and two counts of theft by receiving.

"There were two stolen firearms, and then of course he had a firearm and was a convicted felon. As far as the drugs, I can't give you an exact amount, it was quite a bit," Mangum added.

Hayes was being held in the Jackson County Jail.
