Since 1955, the Gainesville Jaycees have been providing Christmas to needy children in the Hall County area via the Empty Stocking Fund (ESF).

The ESF not only provides toys for less privileged youths but also supplies area families with necessities such as clothes and food and has aided over 5,000 children.

This year, the Jaycees will partner with J&J Foods to help raise additional funds for those in need.

"Earlier this year, I was working with Emily Williams in regards to our Hawgzilla Mud Run. During that conversation, we started discussing other ways to work together and that is where this idea sprang from," Jaycees President Lincoln Griffin said.

Each J&J Foods location will display paper stockings available for purchase -- which will provide a donation to the ESF. The money raised by the sales will go directly to food for the families of the recipient children.

"J&J Foods was looking for an opportunity to give back to the community," J&J representative Emily Williams said. "The Empty Stocking Fund gives us the means to directly impact local families."

The stockings will be available beginning Sunday, and continue to be sold until Christmas Day.
