Gwinnett PD participating in national police encounter survey

Posted 12:00PM on Sunday 17th November 2013 ( 10 years ago )
Gwinnett County Police are asking citizens who have interacted with the police to rate their encounters.

The department is participating in a survey through the National Police Research Platform's Police Community Interaction survey and is one of many agencies participating.

The survey asks those who have encountered police in traffic accidents and stops and nonviolent crimes to rate their experience with the officers afterwards, either online or by phone.

The individual survey results, however, will not be seen by Gwinnett County officers. The survey is administered by the University of Illinois Center for Research in Law and Justice, who will collect the data and then send it back to the agencies. The agencies will use the data to monitor performance and improve training programs.
