GAINESVILLE - The city of Gainesville and Hall County Government have teamed up to utilize one civic engagement tool for both the city and the county.

Hall County's Citizen Alert System can now be used in conjunction with the Everbridge mobile application to report issues, such as fire hazards, road hazards, storm damage and more, regardless of whether the resident lives in the city or county.

Hall County Public Information Officer Katie Crumley says that once a resident signs up with the Citizen's Alert and downloads the Everbridge app, they can make reports.

"They can take a picture of [the issue] and send it directly to officials at the Emergency Operations Center and those officials will alert city of Gainesville officials or Hall County officials and notify them about the problem, so we can send the correct crews out there to rectify that situation."

Crumley said anyone seeking immediate assistance in the case of an emergency is still asked to contact 911 directly.

Residents must register for the Citizen's Alert System and download the app to report concerns.
