Eight students selected as DAR good citizens

GAINESVILLE - Eight Hall County students were selected as Good Citizen's by the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The high school seniors entered an essay and personal statement after being nominated by their school as a potential Good Citizen. Only one student per school per year may be selected.

The Colonel William Candler chapter of the DAR chose the following students as Good Citizens:

Marisa Smith, Heritage Academy
Benjamin Alexander Jobson, Riverside Military Academy
Neil Arthur Pavao, Gainesville High School
Lindsey Ann Lester, Flowery Branch High School
Caitlin Lee Parsons, Johnson High School
Bethany Green, North Hall High School
Lilly Elisabeth Echols, East Hall High School
Kelsi Jones, West Hall High School

Once chosen as a Good Citizen, the student is then invited to write an essay.

The best essay out of the selected citizens will go forth into the scholarship competition. Lilly Echols's essay was selected to continue.
