Gainesville stepping up recycling efforts for holidays

GAINESVILLE - As the holiday season quickly approaches, the city of Gainesville is launching a new campaign encouraging recycling.

The city's Solid Waste Supervisor, Dan Owen, says his department has plenty of 35-gallon recycling bins on hand.

"City residents just need to call us and we'll deliver the bin on the Wednesday following their call," said Owen. "The containers are lightweight and easy to move."
