HOMER -- White County pulled away from a 7-7 scoreline with a vengeance on Friday, scoring 31 straight points to put away Banks County before halftime in an eventual 38-13 victory in Homer.

The Warriors (8-2, 6-1 Region 7-AAA) answered a Leopards (0-10, 0-7) touchdown in the second quarter immediately, courtesy an 85-yard kickoff return from Clancy Loudermilk. But White County didn't stop there, as Coley Loudermilk followed with a 40-yard interception return for a score and a 21-7 advantage.

Maurice Sutton made it 28-7 after a three-yard scoring run before Sean Greer made it 35-7 on another scoring run. Wesley Saunders rounded out the scoring before the half with a 35-yard field goal.

The Warriors, No. 2 seed from Region 7-AAA, await Adairsville next Friday in the first round of the state playoffs, hosting a state game for only the second time in program history.

Banks County's season is complete.
