Rabun County pounds out win behind Woerner's 279 yards rushing

TIGER -- Rabun County continued its march toward the postseason in style on Friday, pulling away from Greene County for a 40-14 win in Tiger.

Charlie Woerner rushed for 279 yards and three scores to pace the Wildcats. The sophomore standout also completed one pass for 25 yards and a score.

Rabun County quarterback Hunter Sims also rushed for 64 yards and threw for 70 yards, as the Wildcats moved one win away from clinching the No. 3 playoff seed for Region 8-AA and their second straight postseason trip.

The Wildcats (7-2, 4-2 Region 8-AA) rolled up 483 yards, including 368 yards rushing.

Greene County managed 221 yards, including 160 through the air.

Rabun County will wrap the regular season against Oglethorpe County in Lexington next Friday.
