Early voting in Gainesville mayoral race totaled 511

GAINESVILLE - As early voting for next Tuesday's Gaineville mayoral race ended Friday, election officials reported that just over 500 people took advantage of the chance to vote early.

"We have a closing number of 511 advance voters," Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee said late Friday afternoon. "(In addition) we mailed 156 (absentee) ballots and received 84 back in the mail as of today."

Early voting for the Nov. 5 elections in Georgia began the middle of October.
