Talmo Road reopened, major repairs completed

GAINESVILLE - Talmo Road reopened to thru traffic Friday afternoon, following a three-month closure for repairs.

The road washed out during a heavy rain August 8. A metal culvert under the road failed during the rain. A new cast-in-place box culvert was installed at the site and 200 feet of roadway was repaved.

Construction was delayed initially as county workers obtained permission to access easements on private property to install the culvert.

According to Hall County Public Works Director, Ken Rearden, Simpson Trucking and Grading completed the repair. The company is one of the county's on-call contractors.
