PumpkinFest '13 at Lakewood Baptist

GAINESVILLE - Ministers, staff and volunteers are staging PumpkinFest '13 at Lakewood Baptist Church and promise it will be bigger, better, and more fun than ever.<br /> <br /> Each year, the church hosts its fall celebration free of charge to families in the region. Activities begin at 5:30 on Wednesday, October 30 with activity booths, inflatables, petting zoo and kid's turkey shoot, as well as an assortment of free food -- roasted corn, boiled peanuts, popcorn, cotton candy, cupcake walk and ice cream. Families may purchase an evening meal catered by The Varsity or Jack's Old South BBQ or Bucket O'Shrimp.<br /> <br /> "The family-friendly event is greatly anticipated each year," says senior pastor Dr. Tom Smiley. "It is well organized and staffed by those who love to serve. An exciting new addition is a maze inside our new ministry center. Every year, this event is provided by the Lakewood congregation as an outreach opportunity to open our campus to the entire region."<br />
