Authorities say the crash involved a car and an 18-wheeler that collided near Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee, killing the driver of the car.
The truck caught fire following the crash, and police and fire crews had to close the southbound lanes of I-85 to handle the clean-up.
Authorities didn't immediately release the name of the person who died in the wreck.
