A few years later, in 1983, Habersham Winery produced its first wine.
This was not an easy road to pave. In fact, after their first big harvest, Slick had to store the grapes on a refrigerated truck for six weeks until the laws were passed and he secured a license to turn those grapes in to wine. Since then, Habersham Winery has grown to be one of Georgia's largest and oldest wineries.
Today, Habersham Winery is located in White County just south of Helen and has introduced countless people to Georgia grown and Georgia produced wines.
To commemorate its 30th Anniversary, Habersham Winery has released three wines with specially designed labels available for a limited time. Habersham Scarlett, Creekstone Gold Reserve Chardonnay and Southern Harvest Peach Treat, all displaying the new limited edition labels.
