Hall County Sheriff's Lt. Stephen Wilbanks said Bryan Douglas Osborne, 28, was arrested in Walton County by a Hall County Sheriff's Office K-9 team that had been following the pursuit.
Wilbanks said Osborne jumped out of his still moving car, but was nabbed a short time later behind a shopping center on Highway 81.
"As soon as the suspect bailed out of the car into the woods, [the K-9 agent] was able to deploy his canine almost immediately and found the subject hiding in the woods, about 200 yards into the woods," said Wilbanks. "The foot pursuit and the canine track was very short lived."
Osborne had been wanted on a list of warrants stemming from an October 20 domestic incident. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, laying drags, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and aggressive driving by the Flowery Branch Police Department.
Hall County Sheriff's Office also charged him during the same incident with aggravated assault of a peace officer and criminal damage to property, 2nd degree.
The pursuit brought additional charges of fleeing/eluding, a misdemeanor obstruction of officers, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
Wilbanks said Osborne fled from the police in the previous incident as well, but they are unsure as to why he fled both times. "He was wanted on felony charges," said Wilbanks. "But we don't know what contributed to his mindset that made him so determined to flee."
Wilbanks said no one was injured and no traffic accidents occurred during the vehicle chase.
