GAINESVILLE - Motorcyclists from across north Georgia will gather Saturday morning, October 26 at the Hall County Courthouse Parking Deck for the "Thunder in the Mountains" ride to support the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes.

The event, sponsored by the Hall County Sheriff's Office, is designed to raise money for the five sheriffs' youth homes in Georgia.

"The homes care for and provide for children taken in due to abuse, neglect and dysfunction," said Hall County Sheriff Gerald Couch.

Riders will register at 9 a.m. and then take off for a three-hour tour of the Northeast Georgia Mountains, winding up at Laurel Park in north Hall County for a post-ride celebration.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Chad Mann, the organizer of the ride, said he's expecting up to 100 riders for the Saturday event.
