JEFFERSON - A Loganville man faces a list of charges after allegedly assaulting a woman in her Jackson County home.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, the suspect and victim were either divorced or separated when Adam Travis Jones, 27, allegedly showed up unannounced Saturday.

Mangum said the victim told authorities Jones assaulted her in her Mountain Creek Church Road residence. Jones also allegedly brandished a pistol and threatened the woman and her boyfriend.

"He (Jones) forced the door open with a gun and threatened to kill her and the friend that she had there," Mangum said.

The woman escaped.

"He (Jones) left out the front door but fired some shots. She (the victim) heard some shots fired as she ran," Mangum said.

Mangum said Jones took off in his vehicle, ramming the boyfriend's vehicle on his way out. Responding deputies encountered Jones on the road as he drove off.

"They were able to obtain information later that he was at a relative's house," Mangum added.

Jones allegedly hid his vehicle in woods before going to the relative's residence. Mangum said he was arrested without incident.

Mangum listed Jones' charges as aggravated assault, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, obstruction, criminal damage to property in the second degree, reckless conduct, simple battery, burglary and terroristic threats.

Jones is out on bond, according to Mangum. She said no one suffered injuries in during the incident.
