Sheriff's office investigates gunshot to man's leg

GAINESVILLE - Details remained sketchy, but Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Chad Mann said deputies were investigating the circumstances surrounding a man suffering a gunshot to the leg Tuesday afternoon.

Mann said investigators were still gathering evidence, but that the shooting happened during an alleged robbery attempt.

Authorities initially got the call to Rogers Circle around 2:30 p.m., but Mann said the incident allegedly happened at a residence on Barnes Drive.

Mann said the gunshot victim had been involved in a struggle with the armed subject.

Mann confirmed the victim's injuries were not life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
