GAINESVILLE - Much colder weather is on its way to north Georgia, with freezing temperatures expected as far south as Buford Friday morning.

According to AccuWeather.com, temperatures Friday morning are expected to dip to as low as 25 in Blairsville, 27 in Cornelia, 30 in Buford and 33 in Gainesville - the coldest readings of the season so far. Temperatures Wednesday will give the area a taste of what's to come with lows across the region in the 30s and highs only in the 50s to around 60 - and it will be breezy with wind gusts of up to 23 miles-an-hour forecast for Gainesville.

These will be the first freezing temperatures since late March in many places.

As for precipitation, the chances are slim through the rest of this week and most of next week, with the next best chance coming Saturday night, Nov. 2.
