A group of visiting artists, "Living Walls," is at the site this week painting a new mural on the tower.
Their work will culminate Saturday with a performance at the venue by another part of the visiting artists group, "Glo," according to Amanda McClure, executive director of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center. McClure says they'll perform at 7:00 with the unveiling of the mural.
This is all part of the traveling art show called "Inspired Georgia," which was announced a few weeks ago by Gov. Nathan Deal and first lady Sandra Deal. (See earlier story. First link below.)
McClure said "Glo" will also be performing during an opening reception for the traveling art show Thursday 5:30-7:30 at the Quinlan on Green Street. They will also perform on the Gainesville square Friday, culminating with a performance at The Arts Council on Spring Street at noon..
McClure added that all of this is part of a bigger project with the Georgia Council for the Arts which is detailed at http://www.quinlanartscenter.org/the-traveling-show.html .
