GAINESVILLE - Contract workers are expected to start re-paving a stretch of Jesse Jewell Parkway on the northeast side of Gainesville Saturday if weather permits.

The $781,353 project runs from Limestone Parkway to Interstate 985, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The contractor, Allied Paving, was expected to coordinate the work with the builder of the new Kroger shopping center, New Holland Marketplace.

Crews are expected to work on the project daily until the scheduled completion date next Thursday, according to DOT spokeswoman Teri Pope.

The contractor is not expected to work during morning and evening drive periods.
