The Chestatee/Chattahoochee RC&D (Resource Conservation & Development) Council will help host a one-day conference Oct. 30 on Georgia's Forest Action Plan.

It will be held at the Dillard House in Rabun County from 9:00-3:30.

Anyone interested in the future of Georgia's Forests is invited to attend. There is no charge for the meeting or a buffet luncheon, provided by the Dillard House.

The Forest Action Plan is a five-year road map for the vast forests that cover Georgia. The current plan is due for renewal soon and public input is important, according to RC&D officials, in order to develop a new management plan that will be beneficial to everyone in the state.
