ATLANTA -- The NCAA has ruled Trae Golden, who played the last three seasons at Tennessee, is eligible to play in the 2013-14 season at Georgia Tech.

Coach Brian Gregory announced Thursday the NCAA approved the waiver of the year-in-residency requirement for transfers. The 6-foot-2 Golden averaged 9.7 points and 3.6 assists while playing in 96 career games, including 58 starts, for Tennessee.

Golden averaged 12.1 points and 3.9 assists as a junior last season. He set a career high by averaging 13.6 points per game as a sophomore.
