Shanks honored as NETEN Officer of the Year

TOCCOA - David Shanks, a patrol officer with Toccoa Police Department, has been awarded the 2013 Officer of the Year from the Northeast Traffic Enforcement Network (NETEN).

The network is part of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and is comprised of agencies in Hall, White, Habersham, Rabun, Stephens, Lumpkin, Dawson, Jackson, Franklin and Hart counties.

"I am very proud of Officer Shanks being recognized by his peers for his hard work and long hours of dedication to the GOHS," said Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell. "He believes in its mission as well as the goals of our traffic network."
