ATLANTA - Authorities in suburban Atlanta say they've hoisted a stolen BMW out of the Chattahoochee River.

Fulton County police Sgt. Scott McBride says a silver 2001 BMW was pulled from the water Sunday afternoon and investigators verified that the car had been reported stolen Oct. 4.

Officials say the car was reported stolen from Fairburn which is about 20 miles southwest of downtown Atlanta. Investigators say the car appeared to have been submerged in about eight feet of water for about three days.

McBride says the vehicle was likely pushed into the river from a boat ramp at a nearby park.
