Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says 13-year-old Marquez Blount died Saturday night at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Authorities say the boy suffered a gunshot wound to his head Friday night.
Investigators say the younger teen was handling the gun when it discharged. The 16-year-old boy is charged with possession of a firearm by a minor and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.
The Associated Press typically doesn't identify juvenile crime suspects.
