GAINESVILLE - Early voting begins Monday in many places across Georgia for the November 5 elections but in some places it will be delayed until Tuesday.

The Georgia Secretary of State's office says it may not begin until Tuesday in those places where local governments observe Columbus Day as a holiday along with state and federal governments. A spokesman says you should contact your local election officials to determine what day it begins in your city and/or county.

Locally, early voting begins for the Gainesville, Flowery Branch and Clermont city elections Monday.

Early voting in Gainesville will take place at the Hall County Voter Registration and Elections Office in the county government center on Browns Bridge Road from 8:00-5:00, Monday-Friday.

In Clermont, ballots will be cast at city hall Monday-Friday from 8:30-4:30 and in Flowery Branch, voting will take place at city hall Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:30.

Early voting will end statewide Nov. 1.
