LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County residents are now able to check felony cases right from their mobile phones.

According to Candice Pitman, Director of Gwinnett County s Victim Witness Program, users can access the feature by going to the Gwinett County website from their mobile browser. From there, the user enters the name or case number for the felon to see the status.

The program is actually an extension of informational kiosks that we had developed and built for the Gwinnett County District Attorney s Office about two years ago, said NAME. This was a further way to get the information that s contained on the kiosk out into the community.

Pitman says the program is also useful for law enforcement officers. This allows them an opportunity for someone who may be on a shift that isn't conducive with calling in to an office at 8:30 or 9 in the morning, said Pitman.

The program is live and can be accessed from any smartphone.
