GAINESVILLE - A young Gainesville woman was one of two people who died Friday morning in a traffic accident on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.

20-year-old Chelsea Gerrish was driving an SUV hit head-on by a pickup just west of McEver Road shortly after midnight.

"In the collision, the individual in the pickup truck was deceased on scene. The other vehicle, the SUV driver, was deceased on scene," Corporal Kevin Holbrook said.

Holbrook said two passengers in the SUV suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.

In addition to Gerrish, Hall County Coroner Marion Merck identified the pickup driver as 48 year old Michael Carl Williams of Ringgold. Police said Williams was alone in the vehicle.

Police said it appears Williams was trying to pass another vehicle when the wreck happened. Holbrook said just before the accident occurred, Hall County dispatchers received phone calls from witnesses claiming the pick-up driver was driving aggressively.
