Panthers rally past Franklin County

JEFFERSON -- Jackson County rallied from an early deficit behind quarterback Jacob Lewis to take a 56-12 win over Franklin County Friday night in Region 8-AAA action.

Lewis threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another 78 yards and two more touchdowns.

Franklin County (0-5, 0-2 Region 8-AAA) grabbed a quick 6-0 lead on its first possession. The Panthers would answer in a big way.

Jackson County (2-4, 2-1) scored on its first possession to reclaim the lead 7-6 and then scored 21 points in each of the second and third quarters to blow the game open.

Malik Tuck had big night with 11 catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers. Layson Giles had receptions for 126 yards and one touchdown for Jackson County.

On defense, Keyshawn Curry had 12 tackles to go with an interception return for a touchdown for lead the Panthers. He also added a rushing touchdown.

The Panthers will enjoy a week off before playing host to No. 8 Hart County in two weeks.
