Authorities confiscate 30 pounds of marijuana in traffic stop

JEFFERSON - A South Carolina woman is charged with possession of and trafficking marijuana after authorities said they found about 30 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, Brittany Ladasha Cannon, 24, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, was arrested during the stop on Interstate 85 Friday.

Jackson County authorities and the Georgia Bureau of Investigations assisted the Georgia State Patrol in the stop.

Authorities said Cannon is being held in the Jackson County Jail.
