Facing East Hall in Dawsonville -- in a contest that was postponed from Friday due to inclement weather -- the Lady Tigers exploded to a 20-5 lead and never looked back, finishing with a 64-50 victory.
Dawson County clamped down on the Lady Vikings' offense in the first quarter, allowing just two field goals, while Carly Gilreath and Sheyenne Seabolt led the Lady Tigers' offensive charge.
Gilreath scored nine of her 14 points in the first half, while Seabolt put up 13 of her game-high 19 over the opening 16 minutes.
Ashley Parker also finished the contest with 13 points for Dawson County (19-2, 8-2 Region 7-AAA) which trails Buford for first place in Region 7-AAA but is two games ahead in the race for the No. 2 region tournament seed.
The Lady Tigers' inside presence proved too much for East Hall, which battled until the end, closing the contest on an 11-0 run. Thanks to the play of standouts like Seabolt, Parker and Kenna Seitz, however, the late charge hardly mattered.
AJ Hendirx paced East Hall with 14 points, while Chelsea Dale finished with 13 points and Jenny Edwards scored eight.
East Hall will look to bounce back on Tuesday against West Hall in Rabbittown.
Dawson County, meanwhile, travels to face Banks County on Tuesday in Homer.
