Girls basketball: Lanier shuts down Lumpkin Co.

SUGAR HILL -- The Lanier girls basketball team used a stifling defense to beat Lumpkin 52-32 in Sugar Hill on Tuesday.

Lanier had three players in double figures -- Amber Cesair 14, Shelby Threlkeld 12 and Lauren Brown with 11.

The Lady Indians (4-17, 2-3 Region 8-AAAA) were led by Dakota Sullens with 9 points, Morgan Wood with 7 and Lacey Robinson chipped in with 6.

Lumpkin travels to Stephens County on Friday.
