CLEVELAND - Thanks to a donation from 11Alive News in Atlanta, White County High School has received a television news set to use in its student-led productions.

According to principal John Osborne, a group of students was touring the 11Alive production facilities two months ago when they were told the studio was planning on replacing the set currently in use.

Subsequent conversations led to an agreement that would see 11Alive donating the set in its entirety to the school when the station's new set was being installed earlier this month.

For the past three years, the school has had its own broadcast studio, WTVN, that is primarily used by students. Although their video production undertakings rely primarily on virtual sets as opposed to physical, Osborne believed the new set would be integrated into their current efforts.

"We'll use this for our stuff we do around school and in our training ground for our students," he said.

A group of students traveled with the school's executive director Monday morning to pick up the set in Atlanta.
