GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville Historic Preservation Commission (GHPC) is being asked to approve the removal of six trees in the Ridgewood Neighborhood Historic District.

The city's planning department says the applicant's request states that the trees are either damaging a retaining wall or are in danger of damaging a duplex apartment on Northside Drive and/or a house on Ridgewood Avenue. Five of them are along Ridgewood and one along Northside.

The GHPC is to consider the request at a meeting on October 11 at 5:30 at Green Street Station.

According to the agenda for the meeting RPC Partners LP is seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness "for a major work project involving a site change."
