CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Fire Department had a planned structure fire training session Saturday in downtown Cleveland and it attracted quite a bit of attention.

Smoke from the practice burn was visible all around the city.

The training was held at an unoccupied house on Nachoochee Street.

"We had firefighters from Cleveland, White County, Helen, and Lee Arrendale departments that participated in the training," said Cleveland Fire Chief Ricky Pruitt.

Due to environmental regulations, firefighters had to do some preparation work prior to the event.

"We had it set up as close to a real home setting as possible to make it as if we were going into someone's house to rescue them," Pruitt said.
