GAINESVILLE - A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a collision with a car north of Old Clarkesville Mill in Clarkesville at 2:27 p.m. Thursday.

According to Senior Trooper Jason Stephens of the Georgia State Patrol, a silver Ford passenger car was pulling from Gabrels Drive onto Historic Highway 441 and collided with a Suzuki motorcycle. That motorcycle was traveling north in the left passing lane of Historic Highway 441.

The driver of the Ford was not hurt, but the male motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Additional details are forthcoming, Stephens said at the scene.
