"She was just walking down the hall by herself when it happened, and school personnel were kind of in the area and saw here and the nurse was called and immediately began performing CPR and called 911," said Hall County School System Spokesman Gordon Higgins.
Higgins said the student has a known medical condition.
"That's why she (the school nurse) was able to immediately start administering aid because she had an idea about what was going on," said Higgins.
He said emergency personnel responding to the scene treated the student for potential cardiac arrest.
No other details were immediately available.
