Hundreds of competitive adult and youth cyclists will compete in 11 fast-paced races, which will take place from 3:30-7:30 p.m. The one-kilometer, closed-circuit bicycle race will speed through the heart of downtown Dahlonega at speeds reaching 40 miles-an-hour.
If You Go:
From well before 3:30 p.m. until after 7:30 p.m. the race route will be cordoned off, to protect both cyclists and spectators. Onlookers can either settle in for the full Criterium or periodically browse the square. The schedule is set up so that viewers can cross the streets between races, but even when the course is closed, visitors can still access the shops of Dahlonega.
