Two Lula businesses damaged by fire

LULA - A thrift store and body shop in Lula were damaged, but no on was injured, in a fire Tuesday evening in Lula.

According to Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell, units responded to the 5900 block of Main Street just after 7 Tuesday night to find a 5,000-s.f. building "with heavy fire showing."

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to Redmon's Garage in downtown Lula, however an adjacent thrift store has smoke damage.

According to authorities, the fire started in and destroyed a pickup, but the exact cause is still undetermined. Fire damage was done to the garage and another vehicle inside the garage with estimated damage at $50,000.
