During halftime of this evening's football game between East Hall High School and Johnson High School, BP and Flowery Branch-based Clipper Petroleum will be presenting a total $17,000 to East Hall County Area Schools - $12,500 for East Hall High School; $3,000 to East Hall Middle School; and $1,500 to White Sulphur Elementary School. The money is to be used to support a wide spectrum of programs and activities at each school, including student leadership programs, extracurricular clubs, academic teams, athletic teams, and technology upgrades to enhance learning.
The BP Fueling Communities program provides grants to local organizations that are nominated by BP's Branded Marketers like Clipper Petroleum to support the communities in which they do business. Fueling Communities gives back to local organizations that support health, education, youth, food and housing to spread charity and goodwill. BP and Clipper have donated nearly $40,000 in the past two years.
"Everyone continues to be affected by the current economic conditions, especially the schools," said Tom Bower, President of Clipper Petroleum. "Clipper has always supported and will continue to support youth education and youth athletics. We felt that it is more important now than ever to support our local schools. We hope that this money is able to touch every student in some way at these three schools."
