Volleyball: JHS sweeps at home

OAKWOOD -- Johnson swept a pair of matches in girls volleyball action, including a key Region 8-AAAA win.

The Lady Knights opened with a straight-set win over Madison County 25-17, 25-14 in a Region 8-AAAA match. They then whipped Lumpkin 25-9, 25-8 to complete the sweep.

Savannah Turk again led the way for the Lady Knights (15-6, 3-1 in region) with 11 kills and eight digs. Karis Sloan had kills, Lindsey Anderson six digs, and Caitlin Parson had four digs.

Lejavian Ratliff had two aces and five kills and Kelly Chance had two aces and 11 assists for Johnson.

Johnson will be back at home on Thursday against Jefferson and Flowery Branch in a pair of non-region matches.
