FLOWERY BRANCH - Pat Cornelius from the Jostens company has presented the firm's "National Yearbook Program of Excellence" Award to North Georgia Christian School's (NGCS) 2012 yearbook, the Equus.

"Producing the yearbook was a long, hard process, but it paid off with this award," said Hannah Kidd, a current junior at NGCS.

Fewer than 2 percent of Jostens 18,000+ yearbook partners achieve this award, which is presented to yearbook programs that have achieved defined criteria in each of three categories: creating an inclusive yearbook, generating school engagement, and successfully managing the yearbook creation process.

"Through restless nights and long hours of work, our yearbook staff pressed for excellence," explained Emily Carroll, another junior who is is a member of the yearbook staff again this year.

Teresa Gruver, high school math instructor at NGCS and yearbook advisor, praised the efforts of the yearbook staff in putting together the award-winning product. After the presentation, NGCS junior Morgan Johnson reflected, "A sense of accomplishment flooded our team when we were (presented with the award)."
