Gwinnett Co. library to get vending machine for books

LAWRENCEVILLE - A vending machine for library books is about to become a reality for patrons of the Gwinnett County Library System.

Library spokeswoman Liz Forester said it'll work like a vending machine for food and will hold up to 300 books. She said the best part is the price.

"It's free... I've got to tell you, you've already paid for it with your tax dollars," she said.

The new machine will be installed at the Five Forks branch in October when renovations to the building are complete.

Budget cuts have forced the library system to trim operating hours and staff members in recent months.
